In a path breaking initiative which aims to protect the environment, Certes Realty Limited has been able to enter into tie-ups with several schools across Delhi, and National Capital Region with the aim to encourage kids impbibe the concept of Flip4Green.
The Flip4Green concept tries to educate the school going children, engage with them by carrying out various activities, and share with them experiences and knowledge which could help us in saving trees, and protecting the environment which is under stress. In the latest initiative to promote Flip4Green, Certes Realty has tied up with GD Goenka World School to make the students, and teachers aware about how paper can be saved by converting used paper sheets into notebooks that can be re-used. Ramesh Menon, Director, Certes Realty said that top management of the firm visited the school, spoke to student leaders, interacted with students on the importance of saving trees, and how to go about this process.
“We are forward integrating this initiative with with the school as we plan to give the notebooks made from used sheets to children living in rural areas, basically those who hail from weaker sections of society”, tells Menon. The novelty of this idea is that school going kids are being made green ambassadors, and they would be spreading awareness among their families, and society at large. A number of schools in Delhi, and NCR have agreed to participate in this program, and students have been asked to collect used paper sheets which will be collected, and then recycled into notebooks. Menon says that to promote this idea Certes is also offering the option of branding these note-books by adding the names of schools on the cover, and putting corporate logos on the same. “We have got good response from schools, and efforts are on to bring more academic institutions under the fold so that we can safeguard the environment. Every tree which is cut for paper means that we have waste a great conservation opportunity”, he asserts.
